In support of capacity-building requirements of statistical institutions in implementing the 2008 SNA, SIAP has been offering basic and intermediate level e-learning programmes on national accounts. These programmes provides knowledge and skills on the main concepts and definitions on 2008 SNA and GDP compilation using the three approaches: production, income and expenditure. The national accounts are an indispensable tool for measuring progress on several SDG indicators in UN 2030 Agenda including indicators related to poverty, energy and environment, decent work and economic growth, and inequality. They are also necessary to producing relevant GDP statistics for the core set of economic statistics endorsed by the ESCAP Committee on Statistics and the Commission. Training materials from the latest courses are available on our platform.

In collaboration with partners, SIAP continues to expand the number of e-learning courses on economic statistics. An introductory course on International Accounts will be available in the second half of 2020.  Please visit our platform regularly to get new updates!
